For my newsletters, I use Mailchimp, and this is a WordPress site.
Please be assured that I won’t ever share your info with other parties.
What personal data I collect and why I collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Your privacy is respected and I will endeavour to comply with GDPR consent requirements. By using the “Contact Me” form you are NOT subscribing to my newsletter or listed on any giveaways or promotions. Additionally, you will only recieve correspondence that is directly relationed to your initial contact equiry.

If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

I use Mailchimp and sometimes Convertkit for my newsletter, so your information is held there. If you wish to unsubscribe from any communication you receive from me, you’ll find an ‘unsubscribe’ button at the foot of each email. Alternatively, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, with the title Unsubscribe, and I’ll take you off the list.
Sometimes, I run competitions, for which I need a winner’s email or address to send out prizes. This information is not stored in any database or used for any other purpose, and I endeavour to delete email correspondence associated.
How I protect your data
I pay for extra data security through my web hosting service, I also use a website security plugin. All reasonable efforts are made by me to ensure your data (and mine) is protected from phishing and hacking attacks. If only we lived in a world of honest people.
I promise to never share any of your information.
